James Gunn helped Jeremy Renner after he hurt himself with a snow plough and had to have surgery. Gunn told Renner that he was thinking about him after his accident and surgeries. Gunn tweeted with a prayer emoji, “My heart is with @JeremyRenner.”
Renner was taken to the ICU by helicopter on Sunday (January 1st). Monday, the actor had surgery that went well, but his condition was still “serious but stable.”
Before Gunn’s letter, Renner’s Hollywood friends and coworkers from the past and present rushed to help him and his family. Mark Ruffalo, who works with Renner on The Avengers, wished him “a full and speedy recovery.”
Ruffalo wrote on Instagram Tuesday morning, “Prayers up for our brother @jeremyrenner for a full and quick recovery” (January 3rd). Please make him well.”
Renner had to have surgery after he hurt himself while ploughing snow in Reno, Nevada. Extra says that the crash left the actor with “blunt chest damage and orthopaedic injuries.”
A statement from Renner’s family says that he is in “critical but stable condition” at the hospital, where he is with his family. “Jeremy had surgery for blunt chest trauma and orthopaedic injuries today, January 2, 2023,” it says. After surgery, he is in the intensive care unit. He is very sick but stable.
“Jeremy’s family would like to thank his wonderful doctors and nurses, Truckee Meadows Fire and Rescue, the Washoe County Sheriff, Reno City Mayor Hillary Schieve, and the Carano and Murdock families. They are also amazed by how much his fans love and support him.
Renner was the only person in the accident. The Reno Gazette-Journal reported that 35,000 homes in Renner’s area, Mt. Rose-Ski Tahoe, lost power on New Year’s Eve because of a winter storm. Details about the accident were not told.
