Stuart Margolin, an Actor, Has Died at the Age of 82
The Hollywood Reporter says that Stuart Margolin died of natural causes on Monday at the age of 82. He was best known for his role on “The Rockford Files,” for which he won an Emmy.
Margolin was a busy character actor during his time. He was in episodes of “Love, American Style,” “The Partridge Family,” and “The Mary Tyler Moore Show.“
One of his best roles was in the action movie “Death Wish,” which came out in 1974. Charles Bronson and Margolin are both in a movie together. Margolin plays a producer who shows Bronson’s character around a gun range and then gives him a gun.
The actor’s big break came when he played Evelyn “Angel” Martin on “The Rockford Files.” Angel would help James Garner’s character, private eye Jim Rockford, gather information for cases, but sometimes he would get Rockford into trouble.
In 1979 and 1980, Margolin won Emmys for his work on the hit NBC show. Margolin’s brother Arnold, stepsons Max and Christopher Martini, his third wife Pat, and his daughter Michelle Martini are the only people who still remember him.
