A car and a pedestrian were in an accident early in the morning, and the pedestrian died.
After hearing that a car and a pedestrian had gotten into an accident at 02:00 GMT on Southchurch Road in Southend-on-Sea, the police went there to look into it.
At the hospital, the victim was said to be dead. It looks like the vehicle in question, which is probably white, did not stop.
According to the Essex Police Department, part of the road will be closed for a number of hours.
The police have asked anyone who may know something about what happened or who saw it to come forward.
