Al Roker Was Brought Back to the Hospital by Ambulance Due to Health Concerns
Al Roker was brought back to the hospital via ambulance the day after Thanksgiving amid his ongoing health scare due to blood clots.
After being released from the hospital and missing the Macy’s Thanksgiving Day Parade for the first time in 27 years, the well-known “Today” host got sick on Friday.
Sources say that the 68-year-old popular weatherman was taken to the uptown Manhattan hospital by ambulance as his upset wife, Deborah Roberts, tried to break into their broken-down Tesla to get her phone and follow her husband there.
Witnesses say that 62-year-old ABC News reporter Cokie Roberts tried to break through a reinforced glass window on the front side of the car with the help of a neighbor outside their Upper East Side home.
One witness told Page Six, “Al was taken back to the hospital on Friday, the day after Thanksgiving, on a stretcher from his home.” After going back to the hospital, he got better.
Deborah, his wife, was understandably furious. She had left her phone and other valuables in their Tesla, but it was broken and wouldn’t open, so she was trying to break a window to get in.
The onlooker stated Roberts’ attempt to collect her items from inside the electric vehicle was “unsuccessful.” “Then Deborah took a cab with her daughter to the hospital, where Al is now surrounded by his family.”
Roker will also miss Wednesday’s Rockefeller Christmas tree lighting, it was confirmed today. Roker and Roberts, married since 1995, have two children, Leila, 24, and Nicholas, 20. The meteorologist has a 35-year-old daughter with his ex-wife, Alice Bell.
Page Six claimed earlier this month that Roker was hospitalized due to blood clots in his leg and lungs. Early detection and treatment can save lives.
“Last week I was brought to the hospital with a blood clot in my leg which sent some clots into my lungs,” Roker posted on Instagram on Nov. 18.
After some back-and-forth with doctors, I’m lucky to be getting good care and getting better. Thanks for your thoughts and well wishes. See you soon.” He posted a video of himself walking through the hospital on Thanksgiving to show how happy he was to be going home.
“So much to be thankful for on Thanksgiving. He wrote in the video’s caption, “Leaving the hospital and going home for Thanksgiving dinner.” The always-happy anchor made a joke that leaving the hospital was his “Thanksgiving Day Parade.”

Later that day, the weatherman posted a picture of himself watching the “Today” parade with Savannah Guthrie, Hoda Kotb, and Dylan Dreyer.
He wrote, “Back home in time to catch a bit of #macysthanksgivingparade.” “Missing @savannahguthrie and @hodakotb.” He wrote, along with a picture of himself, Deborah, Courtney, Leila, and Nicholas, “So very thankful to be home for Thanksgiving dinner with family.”
A second source said that, despite his health problems, Roker was still “positive.” Al is the most positive and excited person I know. Everyone supports him.”
“Al is forging ahead on the path to recovery,” a “Today” spokeswoman informed Page Six. Deborah, his kids, and everyone in the TODAY family love him no matter what.
“He can’t thank everyone enough for their kind words, and we can’t wait to have him back in the studio and with our fans at home.” When the car’s battery died, Tesla didn’t answer Roberts’ lock-out request right away.
