Arkansas Boy, 6, Discovered Dead Beneath the Floorboards After Allegedly Drowning in the Toilet by His Mother’s Boyfriend
A 6-year-old Arkansas boy was found dead under his floorboards. He had drowned in his toilet. Ashley Rolland and Nathan Bridges were arrested after the boy died on December 16 in Moro, Arkansas.
In court papers, Bridges is accused of murder with the death penalty, mistreating a body, tampering with physical evidence, putting a child in danger, and being violent.
According to court records, Rolland is accused of being a partner in a capital murder, mistreating a body, tampering with physical evidence, putting a child in danger, using violence, and agreeing with child abuse.
Arkansas State Police said the boy Blu died about three months ago from injuries he probably got in the house, but an arrest document says he drowned in a toilet.
The affidavit says that Rolland first told deputies that Blu was not at home during a civil standby. She told her father right away that the boy had died in the house. She told her parents that the boy’s body was under the floorboards that had just been put in place.
The affidavit says that when deputies went back to the house, they found the boy alive, but all they could find under the floorboard was a blanket and a pair of flip-flops. In the affidavit, it says that when they took off the top layer of dirt, they could smell decay.
Rolland said that her dad Blu fell and died, but she told police that Blu bit Bridges’ finger and died in September. The affidavit says that Bridges threw the boy’s head into the toilet over and over until he drowned.
The boy’s grandmother, Karen Rolland, told Fox 13: “There’s so much anger because I miss my grandson.” The affidavit says that Blu’s sister’s head had sores, so the police took her to the hospital right away.
The child was badly burned and taken to the Forrest City Medical Center. The document shows that Rolland told the police that Bridges punished her daughter by putting her under hot water in the bathtub.
Bridges refused to talk to the deputies. According to the records, he is in jail without a bond. Rolland is in jail without bail. Court records show that Bridges and Rolland are both represented by the Arkansas Public Defender Commission. Thursday night, NO ONE could reach them.
Karen Rolland has set up a GoFundMe page to help pay for Blu’s funeral.
