Jin is ready to do his job! The 30-year-old BTS member started his 18-month military service at a frontline South Korean boot camp on Tuesday. The K-pop singer was supported by his friends and bandmates Suga, V, Jimin, RM, Jung Kook, and J-Hope.

In photos posted to the group’s official Twitter account, the “Butter” singers pose with Jin while wearing masks and coats. In another photo, members of the band can be seen taking his hood off in a funny way to show off his new buzz cut.

“my sibling!! Come back safely! I adore you,” The message that was translated was read out loud.

In another picture that was posted on the social networking site Weverse, the singer was posing for a selfie with much shorter hair.

The first person to sign up for the required service is Jin, who is the oldest member of the group. Big Hit Music asked the band’s most loyal fans, known as the ARMY, not to come to his enlistment ceremony.

“Only people in the military and their families are allowed to attend the ceremony. We ask fans not to go to the site to avoid problems caused by too many people,” part of the statement said.

“Instead, we’d like you to remember your kind words of support and farewell.” We also want to make sure you don’t get hurt by buying illegal tours or product packages that use artist IP.

Our company will take the right steps against any business that uses this IP without permission.” In the end, the statement asked fans to “keep loving and supporting Jin until he finishes his military service and comes back.”

In October, Big Hit said that Jin would be the first to show up for work. While Jin is gone, the rest of the group will be getting ready for their service and promoting and putting out their solo projects. No one from BTS has said who will join the military next.
