Eagles Eye Get Back on Track in the Line-up for Sunday Night Football

0

The Eagles gave us all a scare last week as the game came down to the wire. They trailed for most of the game, falling behind 13-3 at one point, before putting it all together and scoring 14 points in the fourth quarter.

I honestly thought this was going to be an easy game for the Eagles, one in which they would dominate. That did not occur, but a win is a win.

I was wrong on the spread but right on the under as they didn’t even get close to the 45.5-point mark. This week, after the turkey, has settled and our bellies are full, and before we return to the reality of a work week, the Eagles take on the Packers on Sunday Night Football.

The Packers’ season has been disappointing, with reigning MVP Aaron Rodgers struggling. Rodgers is now near the bottom of the MVP race, with Jalen Hurts trailing only Patrick Mahomes and Tua Tagovailoa.

Important Defensive Matchups

The Packers showed signs of life two weeks ago when they defeated the Eagles’ division rival Dallas Cowboys. The Packers rushed for 217 yards in overtime against the Cowboys.

The Eagles defence, which has struggled to stop the run recently, will need to stop Aaron Jones and A.J. Dillon. They did, however, step up and limit Jonathan Taylor to 84 yards, indicating some progress.

They’ll try to improve their run defence and force the Packers to pass the ball. Even though they lack experience, the Packers have a plethora of pass-catchers. Randall Cobb returned to the lineup last week and led the team in receptions.

Allen Lazard is another receiver in whom Rodgers has faith. However, wide receiver Christian Watson has stood out, with five receiving touchdowns in the last two games.

Important Offensive Matchups

The Eagles’ offence has hit a snag. They only passed for 190 yards against the Colts, and aside from Jalen Hurts, they only ran for 55 yards. If the Eagles want to continue their strong season and make a strong playoff push, this will not suffice.

As good as these receivers are, the Packers have the tenth-best pass defence in the league.

This Eagle’s offence started the season as one of the best in the league, and I believe they need to get back there. The Packers have allowed the fourth-most rushing yards per game, which the Eagles should exploit.

Whether it’s Miles Sanders, Jalen Hurts, or even Boston Scott, the Eagles should focus on running the ball and controlling the clock.

The Selection

Nothing is a given, and as a die-hard Packer fan, I’m rooting for the Eagles. The Packers are frequently discussed in the media, and Rodgers is no exception. It’s time for the Eagles to be quiet.

Looking at WynnBet lines this week, the Moneyline remains a little high at -310. Taking the Eagles’ spread at -7 is my favourite bet. The Eagles are seven-point favourites for the second week in a row.

There is, however, a distinction to be made between being a seven-point favourite on the road and being a seven-point favourite at home. The Eagles have covered the spread in four of their last five home games.

The game’s total is set at 46.5. Even though I believe both of these teams will focus on the run, I believe some points will be scored on Sunday night. I’ll take over at 46.5.

Bonus wager

Prop bets are currently limited due to the fact that this is a Sunday night game. As a result, my free bet this week is the Bengals -1. Even though the Titans have been a solid team, I believe the Bengals will outscore them and win by more than a point.
