After suffering multiple pet deaths, former Real Housewives of New Jersey star Dina Manzo opened up to fans on Instagram with a “candid confession” about her emotional boundaries.

Fans follow Dina’s life on Instagram, where she hasn’t been active on RHONJ since 2015. Last year, Dina said that she regretted quitting the franchise at the time she did.

“I suppose leaving was my biggest regret, but being so sensitive on [RHONJ] was my biggest regret.

“Reflecting on it now, I wish I had been a bit more resilient and not taken some of the things people said in interviews so personally.”

Just before the wildly popular Real Housewives of New Jersey Season 14 “sit down” aired, Dina had an Instagram Q&A with fans in which she made a prediction about the show’s future.

In response to inquiries regarding the program, Dina sent a text-filled image on Instagram Live. Regarding the future of RHONJ, she stated:

Many [questions about] what I believe will happen to RHONJ, well, I am certain of Bravo’s intentions, but…

“I’m guessing that Bravo will choose to retain 2 familiar faces and introduce 4 new ones.”

But Dina also answered some tough questions, like if she intended to get a dog in the future.

Dina answered a wide range of RHONJ fan inquiries on Instagram during her Q&A, discussing topics like her current life and the speculations surrounding the RHONJ reboot.

Bravo‘s “The Daily Dish” aired a segment on Dina’s Instagram Live on August 5, specifically focusing on her reaction to inquiries regarding her intention to adopt “a pup.”

Bravo said that there were a lot of inquiries concerning Dina’s pets. Manzo replied with a text message over a picture of her husband Dave Cantin cuddling a bulldog, acknowledging:

“A lot of folks are inquiring as to when I plan to acquire another puppy. In 4 years, we have lost 5 animals.

“My heart requires a rest.” Mother also works a full-time job.”

Another Instagram photo from the same Q&A featured Dina talking more broadly about her outlook and maintaining a “positive,” along with a story about how she was inspired by an ocean vista while out on errand:

I get asked a lot of times how I manage to stay upbeat. While everyone has bad days, I try to actively seek out the good times throughout my day. I shed a few tears as I drove home from the grocery store today.

“The sailboat and view of the mountains and ocean were quite lovely. There were several enormous bubbles flying by as I was admiring it. I started crying uncontrollably because two older women were staring at them and pointing at them like they were children.

“It also motivated me to order a bubble machine as soon as I got home.”

One of Dina’s favorite posts from April, a touching tribute honoring the passing of her dog Gabriel, highlighted her response to the question of getting a dog:

Dina described how she was healed by the dog she named “G” (or “Gabriel”) in the caption, highlighting her close relationship with the animal:

“My angel Gabriel, or “G,” returned to paradise. During the hardest period of my life, God sent him to be my heart’s protector and healer. He performed his task so flawlessly. The greatest boy, indeed

“His departure was so calm and kind. His time on “hospice,” as you have seen in my writings, was incredibly happy and lovely to behold. His final gift to me was the opportunity to show him the respect and affection that I was unable to provide my father when he passed away “untimely” in 2020.”

Dina went on to talk about a particular kind of sadness that a lot of individuals went through in the early months of the pandemic in 2020.

She specifically talked about the suffering she felt from not being able to see her late father’s bedside and her worry that she would never “be able to heal” from that particular tragedy. She attributes her sudden serenity to Gabriel.

“I didn’t think I would ever be able to move on from the knowledge that my father passed away in a hospital bed by himself and that family members weren’t permitted to say goodbye to him over Zoom.

“Despite everything, G continued his mission to heal my heart and allow me to express all the things I wish I had said to him, ironically, during the same week four years apart.”

Dina’s husband Dave expressed how much G’s departure affected him in a heartbreaking remark he made on his wife’s post:

“It is true that a dog is a man’s best friend, but there are no words to express how thrilled and delighted G was to see us every day. G was always there to brighten any day and produce the happiest result, no matter how difficult life was on any given day.

“G was one of the kindest and most understanding animals I’ve ever encountered, and I swear he understood everything @Dina or I said to him.” For the rest of our lives, we shall constantly remember and mourn him. G, you are loved.”

By mentioning “anytime soon,” Dina hinted that the answer to the question wasn’t “never again,” but she and her husband Dave also seemed to be in active grief over their cherished bulldog, G.
