This year’s awards show will be hosted by Jerrod Carmichael, it was just announced. Carmichael, who earned an Emmy for his show Jerrod Carmichael: Rothaniel in September, follows in the footsteps of past hosts Tina Fey and Amy Poehler, Ricky Gervais, Seth Meyers, and Jimmy Fallon.

Candidates for the 2023 Golden Globes Awards

Many believe that Brendan Fraser is one of the leading contenders for Best Actor this year for his work in The Whale. Will Smith, who won Best Actor for his portrayal of King Richard, could also be nominated for his work in Emancipation.

Viola Davis for The Woman King, Jennifer Lawrence for Causeway, and others. Michelle Yeoh and Margot Robbie are both strong contenders in the Comedy or Musical category for their performances in Everything, Everything, Everywhere.

HBO’s House of the Dragon and Netflix’s The Crown is likely to receive major nominations in the TV categories. Zendaya is anticipated to compete for her Euphoria nomination against actors such as Lord of the Rings: The Rings of Power’s Morfydd Clark.

Emma D’Arcy could be nominated for House of the Dragon as well.
