Fonda also urged people to contact their legislators to reject Sen. Joe Manchin’s proposal to change the government’s regulatory process for energy projects, dubbed the “Dirty Deal.”

“This deal, dubbed ‘permitting reform,’ seeks to expedite fossil fuel projects while undermining bedrock environmental safeguards and limiting the public’s ability to participate, effectively throwing marginalized communities disproportionately burdened by fossil fuel pollution under the bus,” she wrote.

When Fonda originally publicized her cancer diagnosis, she noted that it was “a highly manageable illness” and called for increased access to health care.

“Almost every family in America has had to deal with cancer at one time or another and far too many don’t have access to the wonderful health care I am receiving and this is not acceptable,” she wrote.

Fonda previously battled breast cancer in 2010. She had the tumor removed, and her spokesperson stated that she was “100% cancer free.”
