Jared Padalecki to Join ‘Fire Country’ for Season 3 Following the Cancellation of ‘Walker’
As he begins season 3 of Fire Country, Jared Padalecki is exchanging his Walker sheriff’s badge for turnout gear, Us Weekly can reveal.
In the forthcoming season of Fire Country, which debuts in October, Padalecki, 42, will have a three-episode storyline. According to Deadline, which broke the story on Monday, August 12, the actor would play SoCal firefighter and maverick Camden, who has a “surfer swagger” and is a “force to be reckoned with.”
Even though Camden is a new member of the team, the outlet noted that he “instantly recognizes” Bode Donovan’s (Max Thieriot) “raw talent.”
Three months after he revealed Walker’s demise ahead of the season 4 finale, Padalecki has finally been cast.
“Hello everyone. I have to tell you this news with heavy heart. The actor who portrayed the title role announced on Instagram in May:
#Walker will not be airing on #CW for a fifth season.” “We are incredibly grateful for the #WalkerFamily that has been formed, both on and off set, even though this is undoubtedly difficult news.”
In the 2021–2024 revival of the 1990s western drama Walker, Texas Ranger, Padalecki as Cordell Walker. He praised the audience for their “love and support” over the course of the four seasons of the show.
“We will always be grateful and in love with the entire Walker Family. Being a member of the cast, crew, and fan base that helped #Walker tell the tales we did has been an incredible privilege, he said. “The years I got to spend with the cast, crew, network, studio, and fanbase that made this all possible will always make me happy till our next ride.
Even though Padalecki has settled down with Fire Country for season three, his role is only supposed to be recurrent. But one day, his character might be the star of a Fire Country spinoff.
At this time, CBS has not commented on the potential spinoff; however, Deadline revealed on Monday that discussions over a Padalecki-led program set in the same universe are “in the nascent stages.”
The speculated spinoff would co-star with Sheriff Country, starring Morena Baccarin, who portrayed Mickey, the sister of Sharon Leone (Diane Farr), on Fire Country in season 2. While Fire Country will return in just two months for a new season, Sheriff Country is not slated to air until the 2025–2026 season.
“I can’t make too many jokes. Redemption will always be a significant theme of our show. In May, showrunner Tia Napolitano exclusively told Us Weekly, “That’s the heartbeat of our show.” Thus, it will stay the case. I also discuss the fulfillment of wishes. In my opinion, season three will involve exercising caution when making wishes.
Bode from Thieriot’s second season was released from prison during the conclusion, having served his time at the Three Rock prisoner camp. He needs to get past a few obstacles before he can become a full-fledged firefighter.
In the conclusion, Bode also witnessed his ex-girlfriend Gabriela Perez (Stephanie Arcila) go down the aisle, but viewers were left wondering if she truly said “I do.”
Arcila revealed to Us in an exclusive interview in May that she doesn’t even know if Gabriela is married.
“I think if you’re a person of integrity and a good-hearted person, the universe somehow finds a way to place you where you’re meant to be — even if you’re not following in those tracks,” Arcila said. However, I can’t wait to read what they have in store for the upcoming season. Right now, I feel like a member of the crowd waiting.
Season 3 of Fire Country premieres on CBS on Friday, October 18, at 9 p.m. ET.
