Early Life

College Career

Professional Career

  1. It took three years for Walker to finish UConn. Accordingly, he went to the NBA draught in 2011 and was chosen ninth by the Charlotte Bobcats. He became the first rookie from the 2011 draught class to sign a long-term deal with Under Armour, and he did it for shoes.
  2. The first game-winner of Walker’s career came on November 14, 2012, when he scored a basket against the Minnesota Timberwolves. With 22 points on 9 of 19 shooting, he also had 5 rebounds, 4 assists, and 4 steals in the game. He also had 22 points.
  3. In the 2012–13 season, Kemba averaged 16.7 points, 5.8 assists, 3.5 rebounds, and 1 steal per game, which is what he did in each game. He made a lot of progress in his first year. John Walker hit a buzzer-beating shot in overtime to beat the Toronto Raptors on December 18, 2013.

  8. During Charlotte’s 99–95 win over the Brooklyn Nets on November 4, 2016, Walker scored a season-high 30 points. This helped the team go 4–1 for the first time since 2000. A game against the Toronto Raptors went down to the wire. He scored 40 points, grabbed 10 rebounds, and set up six assists in a 113–111 loss.
  9. On July 6, 2019, Walker became a Celtic when he signed a deal with Charlotte worth $141 million over four years.
  10. Game Four and Game Five of Boston’s first-round playoff series against the Brooklyn Nets in 2021 were missed by Walker because he had a bone bruise in his left knee, so he didn’t play. The Celtics lost in five games.
  11. June 18, 2021, is when Walker was traded from the Boston Celtics to the Oklahoma City Thunder in exchange for big men Moses Brown and Al Horford. The Celtics also gave up a 2025 second-round draught pick and a 2021 first-round draught pick (16th). In 2021, Walker was no longer a member of the Thunder, so they let him go.
  12. The New York Knicks signed him on August 11. On October 20, Walker played his first game for the Knicks. He scored 10 points and set up eight assists in a 138–134 double-overtime victory over the Boston Celtics.

Walker is the son of Paul and Andrea Walker, and he has a big brother named Walker. His parents met in Antigua, where his father is from. His mother is from St. Croix and grew up in the Bronx.  When he was a child, he had two older brothers and two younger sisters named Akil and Keya.

Walker grew up in the Sack-Wern Houses in Soundview, the Bronx, where he lived until he was about 10. It turns out that Walker is also a good dancer. He sang three times at the Apollo Theater for the TV show Showtime at the Apollo. He did this three times.
