Patrick Peterson, a former Arizona Cardinals cornerback, slammed former teammate Kyler Murray on Wednesday, claiming he “doesn’t care about nobody but Kyler Murray.”
Murray and Peterson were teammates for two seasons, but their rivalry is certainly serious, as Murray responded to Peterson’s comments on Twitter.

Former NFL CB Bryant McFadden brought up the Cardinals’ recent troubles and head coaching concerns on Wednesday’s episode of the “All Things Covered” podcast, asking Peterson whether he thought Kingsbury would be a “scapegoat.”
“There is no perhaps. He’ll be, “Peterson spoke highly of his long-standing team. “And the weird part is, the guy who recruited him will still be employed.”

The Cardinals dropped to 4-8 after falling to the Los Angeles Chargers 25-24 on Sunday. Murray noted after the game that the Cardinals were “sort of f—-ed” in terms of strategy.
After ten seasons with the Cardinals, Peterson agreed to terms with the Vikings in March 2021.
Murray’s five-year, $230.5 million contract extension was not without controversy. When the contract was first signed, it included an “independent study” clause that required four hours of film and game study during game weeks. After receiving criticism for the clause, the Cards withdrew it from the contract.
Murray is in his fourth season with the Cardinals, and after making the playoffs for the first time last year with an 11-6 record, the team has definitely taken a step back this season.

There have been claims that Murray and coach Kliff Kingsbury’s relationship has been strained, particularly following a recent spat on the sideline, although both have played down the speculation.
“It doesn’t bother me, or I don’t think it bothers him,” Murray explained at the time. “We’re only looking to win. In the heat of the moment. We’re done after that.”
