Former member of Basketball Wives Gloria Govan accused her ex-husband, Matt Barnes, of owing her almost $250,000 in unpaid back support, and the two came to an agreement, as In Touch can exclusively disclose.

Gloria, 39, consented to end her conflict with Matt, 44, over alleged unpaid support for their twin kids, Isaiah and Carter, who are 15 years old, according to court documents that In Touch was able to access.

They got married in 2013 and broke up in 2015. In 2016, they came to an agreement over their divorce, with Matt agreeing to pay $10,000 each month.

The former NBA player agreed to pay Gloria $275,000 as part of their new agreement, which will bring him up to date on all payments as of August 1.

Gloria will receive $100,000 from Matt within five business days of the parties fully executing the agreement, and the remaining $175,000 within sixty days of the agreement’s signature.

As per the agreement, Matt will incur liquidated damages of $25,000 plus interest if he is more than 10 days late.

“The aforementioned amount of $275,000, upon payment by [Matt] to [Gloria], will satisfy and signify a full and final settlement of all unpaid child support arrearages until August 1, 2024.

This includes all principal and interest, debits and credits, reimbursements, claims for unpaid medical bills, and any related claims and defenses that either party may have against the other regarding child support, for the duration of the stated period,” the agreement stated.

Gloria also received $25,000 from Matt for her legal bills.

Gloria hauled Matt back to court in December 2023, arguing that he had disregarded the order to pay $10,000 per month in support.

At the time of her lawsuit, she claimed Matt owed her almost $260,000 in unpaid child support. She stated that without any kind of mutual agreement, Matt had chosen to cut the $10,000 monthly payments to $4,000 in 2020.

Gloria demanded a six-figure amount, which Matt refused.

He stated that he and his former partner had an oral agreement in 2020 to reduce his child support obligations. The former NBA player claimed to have been contributing extra money to cover the children’s extracurricular and private school expenses.

“I have upheld my end of the bargain,” he declared before the court. Gloria continues to act dishonestly in an attempt to obtain an unfair advantage.

Matt and Gloria agreed in the new arrangement to communicate mostly with each other through the court’s communication mechanism, Our Family Wizard.

The directive stated, in part, that “communications shall be courteous, without criticism, judgmental conclusions, or derogation of the other party.” The ex-couples also decided to share control and direction over their twins’ new show as well as any upcoming podcast endeavors.

The twins presently host “The Barnes Boyz Podcast,” a sports-related podcast.

Gloria and Matt will each have equal access to any information pertaining to any such podcasts, under the terms of the agreement. Every party has the right to stop something from being posted that it believes is inappropriate.

Before exercising their veto authority, the parties shall first attempt to reconcile their disagreements by meeting and conferring on any item that one party believes to be inappropriate.”

The former NBA player consented to return every framed basketball jersey that she had given for the twins’ previous podcast. In addition, Matt and Gloria consented to provide their kids use of a car while they were under their supervision because the boys had obtained driver’s licenses.
