Boston Celtics: Matthew Ryan is an American professional basketball player who was born on April 17, 1997, and he currently plays for them. He also plays for the Maine Celtics, an NBA G League team, on a two-way deal.
He went to college and played basketball for Notre Dame, Vanderbilt, and Chattanooga, among other places.
High School Career
In high school, Ryan played for Iona Prep, where he led the Gaels to a 22–6 record and the first Class AA Archdiocesan Championship in the history of the school. He averaged 20.0 points, 8.0 boards, and 5.0 assists per game as a senior.
College Career
After his sophomore year at Notre Dame, Ryan moved to Vanderbilt and played there for two years. A junior year, he scored 8.2 points and grabbed 3.7% of the boards in each game. After the season, Ryan moved to Chattanooga.
With 33 games and 15.4 points per game in 30.6 minutes per game in his senior year, he had the best season of his life! At the same time, he shot 42.3 points per game from the field, 35.9 three-pointers, and 87.9 percent from the free-throw line.

Professional Career
Before the 2020 NBA draught, Ryan didn’t get picked. He signed with the Cleveland Cavaliers for the NBA Summer League in 2021. The Denver Nuggets signed him on September 27, 2021.
On October 11, he was let go by the team because he didn’t play enough. As an NBA G League player, he signed with the Grand Rapids Gold on October 28. Ryan signed a two-way deal with the Boston Celtics on February 28, 2022.
He played his first game in the NBA on April 10, 2022, against the Memphis Grizzlies. He scored three points in five minutes.

Personal Life
They are Richard and Laurie Ryan’s two sons. Mikela and is are one of them, as well as Michael. He got a bachelor’s degree in economics from Vanderbilt and worked on his MBA at Chattanooga while he was there.
