The National Weather Service says that a red flag warning will stay in place for some parts of Los Angeles County and Ventura County until Friday morning.

Strong Santa Ana winds have been blowing through the area. During gusts, these winds can go up to 50 miles per hour. In some alpine places, wind gusts of 50 to 65 miles per hour have been seen.

A big tree broke in Tarzana, taking a light post with it. The tree and the light post fell on top of a parked car. Southern California Edison had to cut power to some parts of the area because of strong winds in areas that were already in a drought.

As of 11 a.m., SCE said that seven outages were still going on, affecting a total of 2,035 customers.

The utility company has also said that there could be more power outages for public safety, which could affect up to 49,211 customers in Los Angeles, Orange, Riverside, and Ventura counties.

On its website, SCE says that it serves more than 5 million customers.
