After an accident on Sunday, Jeremy Renner, who is best known for playing Hawkeye in several Marvel blockbusters, was in critical but stable condition, according to his representative. The Hollywood Reporter and Deadline say that Renner was badly hurt when he was shovelling snow.

Renner’s rep told the outlet, “We can confirm that Jeremy is in critical but stable condition with injuries he got earlier today while ploughing snow.” The rep didn’t say where the accident happened.

“His family is with him, and he is getting great care,” the person who didn’t give their name said. Renner, who is 51 years old, has been nominated for two Oscars for his parts in “The Hurt Locker” and “The Town.”

In several Marvel movies and a recent miniseries, he has also played Clint Barton, aka Hawkeye. The Hollywood Reporter says that Renner owns property near Mt. Rose-Ski Tahoe, a storm-prone area near Reno, Nevada.

He recently posted on social media about how bad the weather was around Lake Tahoe, which is a world-famous ski spot on the border between California and Nevada. Renner sent out a tweet on December 13 with a picture of a snow-covered car and the words “Lake Tahoe snowfall is no joke.”
